The aged maple hardwood frame has been double doweled and glued for structural integrity and maximum durability. The double-dowel system is done at key stress-points of the ottoman to provide extra strength and support to the frame that allows the Frederick Ottoman to be a prized accent for years to come.
The spring system in the Frederick Ottoman is constructed of eight-way, hand tied tempered steel coil springs. Eight-way hand tied springs have a wide range of movement providing a very even and individual sit because the spring system will move up and down and side to side. This process can only be done by hand and is time consuming as the craftsman individually ties heavy gauge coils front to back, side to side and diagonally eight ways to create a superior base to support weight and provide the highest level of quality, comfort and durability.
The cushion on each ottoman is a spring down seat constructed using a high density foam surrounded by a blend of 45% feather/5% down/50% polyester fiber. The combination of feather and down provides the ultimate in comfort and softness and provides greater durability and resiliency over time.
